      <p id="MARLUC160002">2. Musicus dicitur ille, testante Boetio, cui adest facultas secundum speculationem et rationem ipsius scientie 
      <pb n="[548]" />musice de modis atque rithimis deque generibus cantilenarum;</p>
      <p id="MARLUC160003">3. omnis enim ars seu disciplina honorabiliorem naturaliter habet rationem quam artificium, quod manu artificis atque opere exercetur.</p>
      <p id="MARLUC160004">4. Musicus enim cognoscit virtutem et rationem proportionum musicalium et secundum hoc iudicat et non solum per sonum.</p>
      <p id="MARLUC160005">5. Cantor vero est sicut instrumentum quoddam ipsius musici; in quo instrumento operatur, artifex;</p>
      <p id="MARLUC160006">6. sed musicus praticando ea que iam per rationem cognovit.</p>
      <p id="MARLUC160007">7. Est itaque musicus ad cantorem sicut iudex ad preconem,</p>
      <p id="MARLUC160008">8. nam iudex ordinat et per preconem preconizari mandat.</p>
      <p id="MARLUC160009">9. Sic et musicus ad cantorem,</p>
      <p id="MARLUC160010">10. nam musicus cognoscit, sentit, discernit, eligit, ordinat, et disponit omnia que ipsam tangunt scientiam</p>
